U.S. Navy, AW5 upon honorable discharge. Three years on the Board. Tony operated several restaurants on the Monterey Peninsula for almost 40 years prior to selling them in 2020. Shortly after, he joined our board to serve Veterans and our community. He has a son and daughter and enjoys riding his motorcycle and refurbishing old homes.

Joined the board February 2025. Ian N. Oglesby is the four-term Mayor of Seaside, first elected in 2018 after serving on the City Council from 2010 to 2018 and five years on the Planning Commission. A 30-year resident of Seaside and a U.S. Army veteran, Mayor Oglesby combines deep local roots with a steadfast commitment to public service, equity, and sustainable growth. He and his spouse Rita are proud parents of four children; in his spare time he enjoys reading non-fiction and volunteering in community outreach programs.

27 years on the Board. Born and raised in the Chicago area, Ralph graduated from DePaul University with a BSC in Math and Physics and earned his Army commission through ROTC. His career spanned research and test design for the Combat Experimentation Development Command, financial analysis at Natividad Hospital, budget and operations analysis at CTB McGraw-Hill, and a role as senior budget analyst at CSUMB. Ralph joined the board just four months after founder Tom Griffin launched the organization. Now retired, he enjoys reading, music, traveling with his loved ones, and fishing with his brother.

27 years on the Board. With a passion for helping Veterans, Tom founded the Veterans Transition Center of California (originally the Veterans Transition Center of Monterey). He served as a professional soldier until retirement, then became a Licensed Professional Counselor with two master’s degrees and two doctorates in Psychology and Counseling, worked as a social worker with Child Protective Services, and retired as the MOVO department head. Tom is happily married with three children, 11 grandkids, and 4 chickens. In his free time he enjoys reading, music, good food and wine, traveling, and visiting friends and family.

Seven years on the Board. After becoming one of many success stories as an alumnus of our programs, Quentin joined the Board of Directors and is currently working toward his MBA at California State University, Monterey Bay, with an interest in becoming an analyst for the federal government.

Joined the board April 2025. Carol has been an attorney for 54 years, beginning in New York after graduating from NYU School of Law, where she practiced securities law and served as Assistant General Counsel for the securities industry’s trade association. She then practiced for 25 years in Texas, including as Associate General Counsel for 7-Eleven, Inc. Carol moved to Carmel in 2000 and joined Fenton & Keller in 2005, where her practice focuses on corporate governance, nonprofit formation, and business law. She has served many local nonprofits, including Legal Services for Seniors as its 2019–2020 President, and lives in Carmel-by-the-Sea with her husband of 46 years, Don, a U.S. Army veteran, and their rescue dog, Dora.

Seven years on the board. Bill’s Uncle Tom served on a U.S. Navy destroyer in the Pacific during WWII, was a retired firefighter, and wound up a Veteran without a home. Graduating from West Point in 1963, Bill earned master’s degrees in Civil Engineering, Physics, and Business Administration during his service career, and taught in the Physics Department at West Point and the Math Department at the Naval Postgraduate School. Happily married to Carole for 57 years, they have two sons and six grandchildren. He currently operates his own Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business.

One year on the Board. Allison brings a distinguished 22-year career in the financial services industry, a BA from Chapman University, and an MS in Personal Financial Planning from the College for Financial Planning — along with the CFP®, Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor™, and Accredited Domestic Partnership Advisor™ designations. She is wholeheartedly committed to tailored investment planning, from retirement security to education costs, tax complexity, and cash flow. Allison and her family call Carmel Valley home.

Joined the board July 2023. Born on the former Fort Ord military base as the descendant of a military father, Regina is a lifelong resident of Monterey County. She has spent most of her career in social work — registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences, mentoring girls and young women, and co-founding a mental health clinic and family resource center. Regina is a mother, grandmother, sister, and wife who loves spending time outdoors caring for her yearling horse Shadow and the agency’s horse Jax.
