Lightfighter Village

After receiving the funding needed, the development of Lightfighter Village has begun. This three-story 71-unit housing structure is under construction on 2.3 acres of VTC land; it will consist of 64 studio apartments and seven two-bedroom family units for low-income Veterans and their families. Residents at LFV will have access to supportive services here at VTC, a community room, computer lab, pet wash station, mediation room, fitness center, laundry facility, community garden, play structure, and carports covered in solar paneling.

We want to thank EAH Housing and Huff Construction for teaming up with us to turn this dream into a reality so Veterans and their families can live with the dignity and security they deserve.

A visual mock up of what Lightifhgter Village will look like. A large white three story building with multiple balconies. There is a paved sidewalk & parkway for cars to drive throug. Trees and flowwers are shown and stock images of an older couple walking towards the image. Both are wearing jeans, and light jackets. At a distance walking away from the image you see an older man wearing light pants and an orange shirt walking with a kid in light pants and a red shirt with white stripes.

Demolition

Huff Construction has been hard at work preparing the site of this affordable housing community for our Veterans. Derelict buildings have been demolished, old pavement torn out, and the site cleared of invasive vegetation.

Grading

To create a solid foundation for this exciting 71-unit permanent supportive housing project, the grading of the site went along smoothly.

Wall Raising

After so much hard work, we had a wall raising ceremony with EAH housing and our community to celebrate this exciting new step. Click here to see this memorable day!

Structural

Three stories of structural walls are up, bringing us closer to the vision of what the completed village will be. Huff Construction continues to impress with their hard work as they lay out the breezeway between buildings, bring in plumbers and fire sprinkler subcontractors to begin installation, and roll out roof trusses. Marina is quite the idyllic location for our permanent Veteran housing, and each day it's easier and easier to imagine Veterans and their families calling Lightfighter Village home.
